Personal history
Dyfed Wyn Jones was born in Bangor. He was brought up in Arfon and educated at Ysgol Brynrefail and Bangor University. He currently lives in Llanfairpwll and is an active member of his community. Fluent in Welsh, he is married and has two children.
Professional background
Dyfed spent over 20 years working in the Education and Skills sector supporting children and Young People. He started as a Careers Adviser before moving into supporting Sector Skills development predominately in the Construction and Energy sectors. More recently he worked in developing innovative approaches to increase engagement with STEM related learning. He has worked extensively with a wide range of stakeholders within Government
Political history
Dyfed was elected to serve the Aethwy ward on Anglesey County Council in May 2022. He has served as vice chair of the Scrutiny Committee as well as sitting on Education and Finance Panels. Dyfed was appointed as an Independent Member of Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board in 2023, representing Local Authorities. In 2024 Dyfed was appointed Cabinet Member for Children, Young People and Families.
